what's the difference between a DISCRETIONARY EMOLUMENT and AN ENTITLEMENT?

A discretionary emolument is a payment entirely within the discretion of the employer and which may be withheld if he sees fit, without the employee having any right to bring a claim for it before the court.
An entitlement is something which the employer must give the employee and failure to do so gives the employee a right of action against him, possibly including the right to claim constructive dismissal.
