Instructions
1
Push in the tab located on each side of the line housing to unlock it, and pull it down to remove it from the trimmer head.
2
Unscrew the cover on the housing counterclockwise to remove it.
3
Pull the spool off the spindle. Remove any cutting line remaining on the spool.
4
Cut 25 feet of line from the roll of new line. The section of line doesn't have to be exactly 25 feet long, but it should be close.
5
Feed the length of line through the slot located on the line spool and double it back onto itself so you have two lines approximately 12 1/2 feet. Each and the loop in the line is attached to the slot.
6
Wrap the line around the spool in a clockwise direction, as indicated by the arrows on the spool. Wrap one end of the line around the top half of the spool and the other end around the bottom. Start in the middle of the spool, working your way outward. Keep the line from crossing over itself. Leave several inches of line on each end unwrapped.
7
Clip the ends of the line into the notches on each side of the spool. This controls the line while you replace the housing.
8
Thread the ends of the lines through the holes on the trimmer head housing. Place one end of line through the hole on one side of the head and the other end through the hole on the opposite side.
9
Re-attach the spool housing cover and turn it clockwise to tighten it. Slide the housing onto the spindle until the tabs engage with an audible click.
10
Grasp the ends of the line and pull sharply to detach them from the notches on the spool. Trim the ends to approximately 5 inches prior to use.
