Morphine is a strong analgesic (painkiller) drug, which medical use is to relieve severe pain. Morphine is extracted from the plant opium poppy, and therefore is classified as an opiate.
I don't recall why, but I didn't nention that morphine is also highly addictive, and that its long term use can be harmful to users in many ways, for instance, its long term use can cause confussion, paranoia, overdose, and even death, to name few effects.
