Prop them up to relieve the swelling, walking will also reduce the swelling if you can stand to walk (if the pain is not so bad I mean). Call your doctor and make an appointment to find out why your body is retaining water. If you are not pregnant, this could be a sign of a heart complication. It's best to get it checked.

It is the Uric acid that builds up in one system, that can cause pain the feet.
Like many things today, they have a pill for that.
