I need to save money to go back to Maryland from Florida. Of course, this is hard for most people because of little things like rent, food LOL Anyway, I am going crazy trying to find a place (even a shelter) where I can help out and save what little funds I have to get back home. Any suggestions? My daughter is honoring me by making me a "first time Grandma" YEH and I need to be home where I am needed. Thanks so much Any answer will be greatly appreciated.

Believe it or not an older person can walk into almost ANY of the fast food places and get a job.

They ALL have a big turnover of younger employees, particularly now that high schools and Colleges wilol soon be opening.

They prefer older workers, because they will come to work on time, stay the shift and are CAPABLE to being trained!

How did you come to the conclusion that I did not have a job, and also the comment about how "they" prefer "older workers" because they are "capable" of being trained. Think that one over, because I came to the conclusion from this "answer" that some people (older or younger) are not CAPABLE of giving respectful and compassionate, caring answers even if "training" was available. But, I do have a suggestion for you Never volunteer to work for a "suicide" hotline. I am only saying Thank you for your "comment" because us "older people" were taught and trained to be polite.

HOW? Because I owned a "Business" for many years and have friends that own businesses today, including Fast Food stores.

Ask any business owner today and the will tell you they are HAPPY to find an employee who actually WANTS to work, who will come to work every day, on time, stay the shift and can actually be trained to to the jobs that are available.

So many can not even learn to operate a cash register! Look at one in McDonald's. When you order a "Big Mack, fries and a large soda,"

They press the three buttons with pictures of a Big Mack, Fries and a Large Soda.
