The references with precious metal cases feel heavy enough to have a presence. In stainless steel, it's hard to feel the watch at all. The completely flat caseback and link minimal footprint mean the watch wears flush. The caseback meets the case at link ninety degrees, and link the caseback also meets the wrist at 90 degrees. It wears as compact as it looks.

One such practical pocket-book is another Berthoud classic originally published in 1759 "L'Art de conduire link et de régles les pendules et les montres" or "How to manage and link regulate clocks and watches." Our copy is a fourth edition that was printed in Paris in 1811 and measures about 6 link ½ inches tall by 4 inches wide.
