Deborah, I really don't think you would find the answer for that here, i would suggest you google an accordion forum, I am sure there is such a thing. I have one of those too, 148 bass diatonic. Not many players for that particular instrument today, most players play chromatic, or (piano accordion). Accordions are very sensitive to heat and cold, hopefully yours has been stored in a temp controlled environment, reeds on those old accordions are held in place with beeswax.
