Hi,
Look to the underside of the table. Is there the same stuff as is used on top of the table and is it out of sight normally?
Then try several cleaning products that handle things more careful (not aggressive) and test some of it on a little spot on the underside. If it feels safe (not become sticky or colored after a while) then it should be safe to use.
