Here is a web site that should be helpful.    www.winemakermag.com/new/fresh

Wine making is easy, good wine is something else.... Mix 3 parts juice with 1 part water, 3 cups sugar, one pack of yeast, and one sliced potato. Cover and let sit for 5 days, burping occasionally......

my neighbor grew up making wine from local grapes.  Once he left his fathers' home, he used Calif. grapes, now he uses juice, and will never go back to grapes again.  The concentrate is of course produced by using wine grapes.  He makes real good wines!

Real wine is made with grapes. Any other primary ingredient that produces a liquid ought to be called something else. VINO; du VIN : from the latin "Vine" as in grape vine. Ever seen a cherry or dandelion vine ?
