        Aren't the Great Pyramids one of the 7 wonders of the world???  I think the UN should get involved if this is more than just 'talk

          It definitely would be seen by the rest of the world as destroying a part of its history, regardless where the pyramids are situated. It would be a shame if such ignorance occured.
