    can you use pool sand in place of patio sand?

    It is recommended that you use course granular sand, which will bind the pavers
    together, pool sand will not settle the same.

    I don't think that's a good idea.  Pool sand is used for filtering.  Patio sand is used in construction. Check with a contractor.

    No, As a 30yr mason I say use the course Gray sand for the bed of the Patio. Then we use pool/play sand to put on top and sweep into any cracks to lock the Pavers in place !!  Good Luck  ;)
