Brother sewing machine, model 461, has no speed control. When power is applied it runs at full speed - with or without foot-pedal control. What could be wrong?
I've tried plugging the machine directly into the outlet without the foot petal and the problem remains. Replaced the foot pedal with a new one - didn't help. If I could get my hands on an electrical drawing for this thing I think I could fix it.

I tried to find all I could does sound like an electrical problem could be a loose wire as well.
