In the UK you do not get paid for jury service, however you are allowed to claim your traveling expences to the court, a lunch allowance and loss of pay if you are in employment (your employer has to complete a Certificate of Loss of Earnings or your Benefit Office if you are claiming unemployment benefit ) The maximum you can claim for a trial lasting between 4 hours and 10 days is £32.47 a day, this rises in increments up to a maximum of £228.00 a day for trials lasting 201 days or more.
