If you drive an estate car / people carrier on a wet road water gets dragged back onto the rear windscreen, what speed do you need to drive to avoid this effect? creen

Get mud flaps for your tires. You can only legally drive so slow on secondary roads and highways before you are considered a hazard. Drive slower on your own and see at what speed you do not get the up spray from the tires, or invest in mud flaps. This is rational thinking by the way :)

Even more rational is knowing the up spray and amount of up spray depends on the thread of your tires :)

Sorry Colleen, I meant to say could you drive faster to avoid this effect and what speed would you need to drive.

Never drive faster in wet conditions. The fastest you can legally go is the speed limit, as long as you have tires that can handle water well. Be ware of hydroplaning.
