    I have a Power Distribution Unit [480 V 60Hz 3ph] Rated at 200HP that drives a 150HP remote motor load. What HP Rating info should be applied to the PDU Nameplate [for mains connection]?

    I have a Power Distribution Unit [480 V 60Hz 3ph] Rated at 200HP that drives a 150HP remote motor load. What HP Rating info should be applied to the PDU Nameplate [for mains connection]?


    The NEC has nameplate rating requirements for motors, motor controllers and such, but does not seem to address this.  Arc flash calculations would take into account a motor acting like a generator during coast-down following an interrupted fault.  Thanks for any guidance you can offer.
