brake pads and shoes have nothing to do with the abs sys. abs is strictly the electrical part of the anti locking brake sys. you first have to read trouble codes from the abs with the help of a scan tool then follow the tree chart to figure out what sensor is malfunctioning. it could be one of the 4 speed sensors inop . good luck.
