How do I convert a .WMV Video Format to MP4
When I try to see a video in WMV format on my Windows Vista Ultimate I get this message "No suitable decoder module:VLC does not support the audio or video format "MSS2"". I get sound but no picture. Is it possible to convert to a MP3 or 4 format so that I can see it with Media Player?

Apparently you can not do this. You can convert an MP4 to .WMV but not the other way around. See here.
