    I have a 97 mustang V6 not sure the belt is on right!

      Belt diagrams are usually found under the hood in front of the radiator. Have you looked there? If you do not see it, check here >> http://www.bing.com/search?setmkt=en-US&q=put+a+belt+on+a+97+mustang+v6
