    transmission will not go in reverse and shifting is slow

    during drive to work my transmission sudenly would not shift . after it sit for  a short time it would shift but only after I would let off gas. It still would not go in reverse .

      Have you checked your transmission fluid? Check the smell too. If it smells burnt, get your tranny checked.

        depends on age of car, first you check oil level, if ok check colour as most use atf an that red in colour if yours is blackish type colour could be serious as torque convertors can were out, could also be a electical issue, best of luck.

          Believe it or not...I've put some life back into automatic transmission by taking the bottom cover off and changing the filter in them. If a transmission isn't too far gone, it helps considerably.
