    Personally, I have never heard of an attendance allowance, the primary carer is entitled to payment and circumstances permitting perhaps some respite, if respite care is sought through a friend or relative or anywhere other than a recognized and acknowledged establishment, a private agreement could perhaps be entered into

    Think so ,yes.Take it to the letter,the carer is attending to the person who needs help.When i cared for my Mam she recieved Attendance allowance and i claimed what was then known as ICA(invalid care allowance)The DSS or S ocial services should be able to advise you
