      Get a pair of regular fingernail clippers. Gently press on the knuckle of the kittens toe if you need to to make the nail protrude. Using the clippers, just take the tip of the nail. You do not need to cut the nail way back, just take the tip off.

        Don`t ever cut the nail too short...if you cut the "Quick"(pink part of the nail)...it`s UNBEARABLE PAIN for the cat...I`VE done it once in error!:-((one nail..accidentally)!

        Kittens shouldn't need their nails trimming, they will wear them down themselves once they can go outside, they do that by scratching at wood and anything else they can find to pluck and scratch.
