Colleen thank you but I still not sure what that means. I'm a older woman and I know ever little about computer. I bought this computer from a neighbor and it was fine till today and i got a message that I need a key # for vista so I put it in and got a message back saying that the key number did not match and need to purchase a new Window Vista for $199.00

It's a Microsoft operating system. Windows 7 is better.

You need to get in touch with the neighbor you bought the computer from. I have a feeling they may have loaded an illegal operating system into the computer.
