Have you looked at the trouble shooting section of your owners manual? We can not see your fax machine nor can we see what you are doing nor do we know what kind of fax machine it is. There's not a lot I can tell you at this point.

You are right I did't; It's a HP officejet 4500 wireless printer,scan,copy & fax. Run fax test an all PASS. yet it won't fax. I made sure of cable line I have comcast, and telephone line from modum to printer is 2wire. Do you think it could be the ID address? If so how do you change it. Everything else works fine. My problem is I'm 87 what a draw back.
Why are you running a phone line from the modem to the printer if you have Comcast internet? Try running the phone line from the fax machine straight to a phone jack. You will not be able to use your phone while you fax but that shouldn't cause a problem.
