should you ever trim/prune back long vines in the summer?
We have grapes that have not been taken care of at our campground. I pruned them back (as shown on the internet) and tied them. They have TAKEN OFF this spring and are large, healthy vines with bunches and bunches of tiny little grapes. However, some vines are so vigorous they have grown out onto the sidewalk. Is it OK to trim them at this stage of their growth and how do I go about doing it? We are in northcentral CA -- gold country. Not sure what the grapes are, but I think some are Thompson and some are Concord.
