Approx 179.52 cubic feet of water.

You need to convert to cubic feet. Circumference is 4 feet. Divide this by 2 for length X width, then X  the depth which is 6 feet. 2 X 2 X 6=24

    There is 7.48 gallons of water per cubic foot. 24 X 7.48 = 179.52

I assume that when you say a 4 foot cylinder you mean 4 foot diameter.  If we can take this premise as correct, a cylinder with a diameter of 4 feet and a height of 6 feet will contain 8543.441 litres or 1879.294 UK Gallons or 2256.937 US Gallons. This will weigh 8 ton 16 cwt (UK) or 9 ton 8 cwt (US).   nuff said!
