Is it possible that the chorus is so outstanding that it's all you recall? There are so many songs like that,for example..Bob Marleys' "Get Up, Stand Up" comes to mind.So does Pinks' song"Get The Party Started"(2001)...Beatles' tunes ..and remember "Don't Worry..Be Happy"?...many reggae songs...Chers' "Do You Believe in Love After Love?".I'll stop.  Peace.
