    Who am I related to

    Family name Lee,  My great great grandfather wasDaniel Carter Lee born 16 Jan 1850..I was told I am related to General Robert E Lee and I am trying to find the link.

        A geneologist once told me that if  you have the last name of someone else who is still living, and you are the same nationality , you cannot be anymore distantly related than 5th cousin. If you still live in the city where you were born and raised, you are probably related to everyone in that city that has the same birth last name as you.
