Febbre ondulante is Italian for "ondulating fever". It is an infection by the bacteria genus called Brucella. It is transmitted to humans from infected animals or from ingestion of infected milk (or milk products) or infected animal tissues. The symptoms include fever, malaise, and weight loss.
