    As you know, you can not rent a truck with just a permit. Besides, most states do not allow you to test with a rented truck. Did you get your permit through a school? If so, you should be able to use one of their trucks to test with.

      I'd go to local trucking companies and ask to rent one.

          Maybe you could try craigslist or a nearby truck stop.
