    would it be my thermostat

      Some times the gauge just doesn't work! Does the car appear to function right?  Do you get heat or AC -when you want?

        if the thermostat is stuck in the open position then there is nothing to restrict the flow of cold water so showing cold on the gauge.the first check to make is to make sure it is seated correctly,if it is and operating as it should then move on to the wiring and the sensor.

          thermal sensor or wire to it. thermostat just controls water flow
