i am assuming that you are talking about the over-drive light and if that's the case then the over-drive part of the transmission is not working properly. most of the times the switch or the wiring in the shifter lever is the fault. it should not be anything in the trans. check the wiring visually and with an ohm meter to see if it has continuity i n the wire and the switch. good luck.
