An ultrasound scan is a fairly accurate way of determining the sex of your child, but amniocentesis is 100% accurate though not without risk. Why not accept what the good Lord has given you in his bountiful mercy?

Because it reads like you are presuming that she only wants a particular sex and would not accept the wrong sex. It sounds like judging just because she wants to know the sex before the baby is born. Many parents want to know the sex of the child before it's born. It really does help to know what color to paint the room or what kind of clothes to buy for the baby.
I accept your point, and I can see the reason a parent may wish to know their child's gender.
Sadly, in India and China females are so little valued that female foeticide and abandonment of newborn girls is still considered acceptable in their culture. That is not to suggest that the questioner falls into this category.

Really? This is just so wrong. They simply asked how to find out the sex. They never said they wanted one sex over the other. Maybe they want to know if the nursery should be pink or blue!
You have no real understanding of what a pregnant woman goes through. A woman looking forward to the birth of her child should not be slammed into a discussion about abortion. You are a very insensitive person Umbriel but I'm sure you know that already and do not care.
