      I would try to go a little more direct in my efforts and check with the coroner's office there, in the hopes of being filled in on the details through them.

        The more information you have the easier it will be to track this down.  Do you know what month and year he died? How he died (gun, knife, hit and run...)?  Where he died (what part of town)?  The Newspaper of Police may be able to help you but with only knowing that He was murdered in Kansas City Missouri you may not et too far.

            Hmmm. How about some links to guide him to where he should start searching first? When someone asks you how to find, say, a courthouse, do you tell them, the world?
