I would like to point out I think you may have spelt the name wrong !!!
Russell also Rossell is a Scottish, English or Irish name derived from the Anglo-Norman French nickname Rousel.[1] The nickname was a diminutive of the Old French Rous, meaning 'red.'[2] The nickname, with the -el added, likely originated to denote "the little red-haired one."
The name may also refer to Clan Russell, a Scottish armigerous clan.
