is turning the breaker off
is turning the breaker offnfor the dishwasher the same as pulling the plug? My dishwasher seems to be wired directly. i did try everything else you suggested and it worked for half an hour then shut off and started flashing again :-(

Turning off the breaker cuts the electricity to the outlet where you have plugged in the dishwasher. It is not the same thing, but it accomplishes the same purpose. If you were to reset the breaker, the dishwasher would likely continue where it was when the breaker was pulled.
