What did your doctor tell you? We do not have a medical staff here.

It`s A nasty INJURY...I EMPATHISE COMPLETELY!(I did mine trough running fall)...iT DEPENDS on many things..age,health,seriousness of injury ..is it completely severed or "Fraid"..like a rope eg!!..IE some of it still in tact...you need to see an Orthopaedic Dr...it`s most common in people/sporty who jump/run etc....if that`s NOT the case..then you need to see GP to checkout underlying (potential) Causes as some illnesses can cause deterioration without exercise!...May need surgery..will definitely need initial rest/strapping/pain relief/ice to combat swelling and reduce pain...foot exercises if Dr ADVISES AS IMPERATIVE GOOD BLOOD CIRCULATION TO KNEE!!...I guestimate anything from 3 months...often 6 months to 12 months and physio!!...Try to stay upbeat...ie concentrate on other physical exercises that you can do...rather than what you can`t!!!...I felt crushed when I couldn`t run...It FELT LIKE IT WAS never GOING TO GET BETTER...BUT One day I found myself walking without thinking about it!!!...STAY POSITIVE!!...I am recovering from O health probs at the mo...but aim to be back running as soon as given the TU!!:-).....ALL BEST WISHES MILLIE XX

a good estimate is 8 months including physical therapy but it depends on the age and general health of the person too.
