Trees need their leaves to breath. Breathing is the process of gas exchange. When plants breathe, they take in carbon dioxide (CO2) and give off water vapor and oxygen. Plants breathe during the day because they need CO2 for photosynthesis, which requires the sun. We need the trees to breath so we can have oxygen. Take a leaf if you need it for a project. Otherwise, let the leaves alone.
