    whats the difference in straw and hay?

    Straw in general is the stalk from the plant  usually wheat or oats,and is make for bedding livestock                             or landscaping projects but thats just in our area. Hay is from clover or alfalfa or some types of grasses and is harvested to feed cattle or livestock.. 

    straw is the stalk`s of a grain crop such as wheat and mainly used for bedding, hay is dried grass and used for fodder.

    The feed value of hay is better than straw, Hay is mainly grass while straw is the storks of ceareal crops
