    Why can I pull away from a standing start in 2nd gear in my Toyota Auris but if I am slowing down below 10 mph, it will not allow me to select 2nd gear. This I found dangerous in the icy weather last winter and could cause problems on wet grass on parking fields at outdoor events.

      You drove all winter like that and did not bother to take your car to a mechanic? I do not even want to be responsible for you by trying to find an answer. TAKE THE CAR TO A SHOP if you haven't already!
