Did she state a reason for refusing you?

What were her grounds for denying you? Did she state clearly it is because you are disabled? Is the apt set up to disabled living? You need to prove that she is discriminating against you. People still have the right to say no to potential renters if they do not trust them or if the potential renter has a bad history of meeting their rent. We only have your side of the story. Start with the housing authority first to see if you have any grounds to force her to rent to you. I'm not sure I would want to live somewhere where I had to force someone into letting me live there though. Makes a bad environment to live in in my opinion.

I am not sure you can..unless she specifically takes low-income disabled folks.  Private rentals and even rental complexes have a choice as to whether they decide to take low income folks in.  If you receive section 8 housing many complexes will have you sign forms so they can collect the $ directly.  I am sorry this is a bad situation and you are certainly not to blame.  Good luck!!

It isn’t worth arguing over. Anyone who would refuse to rent to you does not know you or prior landlords found you to be an undesirable tenant. Bad raps are tough to overcome. You can fight prejudice in court but folk who think their prejudice is beneficial in protecting them are too stupid to rent from.
