What can I do to stop itching? There is no apparent reason; I am not allergic and my hepatic check-up is normal.

I must add that I am a nervous person.

Take your bath or shower in cooler water, using a moisture-filled soap (liquid better than solid bar). Use an unscented moisturizer.  AVON has a product called "Skin So Soft" that is really nice and works well for me.
Too hot water can really dry the skin.

Maybe it's the product you're using to wash your clothes, sheets, towels etc in, too. Possibly trying a different one will help.

Many elderly people complain to the Doctor of unexplained itching - as such the Doctors do not why this happens. There is a cream for the relief of itching and skin irritation here in the UK called EURAX (Crotamiton) hope this helps.

Does it ROMOS - I haven't found that but does smell a bit like stale urine now I come to think of it - my taste buds not so good. This is in no way a euphemism.

Pinetarsol, or Alpha Kerri in the bath often helps, there are many good products on the market, also a mild cortisone cream may help

EURAX IS GOOD..BUT HOW ABOUT ASKING FOR ALLERGY TESTING TO FIND WHAT`S CAUSING IT??..could see if you could get your g,p to prescibe you a short course of anti-histsmine tabs or otc at the pharmacy..but ask pharmacist for advice!

    GOOD LUCK
