They say the whole of the Universe began to form 14,000,000,000,000 years ago, but they also tell us the believe the Earth itself began to from around 4.54 (± 0.05 billion) years ago.
Some say the Bible lists a much shorter time ago, but only God knows the length of HIS day, not our rotational based 24 hour day.
