Instructions
1
Click "Start" and "Computer" if your computer doesn't recognize your Magic Jack device. This could be because your computer doesn't recognize the device USB when it is connected and you may have to assign a drive to the device.
2
Right-click on the drive and select "Properties."
3
Click the "Hardware" tab and select "Device Manager." You will see a list of all the hardware devices stored on your computer.
4
Click the "+" symbol next to the "Universal Serial Bus Controllers (USB)."
5
Right-click "Universal Host Controller."
6
Select "Uninstall."
7
Download a system tray minimizer such as 4t Tray Minimizer. The MagicJack can take up a lot of space on your computer. Such programs allow you to free up space on your desktop and task bar by minimizing them or hiding programs to the system tray.
8
Connect your Magic Jack to your computer via USB cable. The small end is connected to your computer's USB port and the larger end is connected to the bottom of your phone.
9
Double-click the 4t desktop icon to open and click "Add."
10
Drag the icon under the "General" tab to the top of your sofphone. The sofphone is the Magic Jack application software.
11
Click "Next." This should resolve your Magic Jack connection issues if you are having trouble connecting due to lack of computer space.
12
Disconnect other USB devices such as mouse, camera, memory cards and external hard drives. The Magic Jack will work better when it is not competing with other electronic devices, as your computer tends to distribute space for each connected drive.
