        If you plan an overnight stay at the halfway point, may I suggest you pick Corning, NY. A nice sized city with many attractions, eating establishments and lodging. See map here:

          A shorter route would take you near the New York City area, the mid point being void of any larger cities other than Bloomsburg, Pa (which isn't very big).
