    why would a car run hot if the water pmp,thermostat and the radiator is good

    it is a 98 cadilac deville 4.6 liters

    Altinator?    Oil? 

    Clogged heater core? Temperature control valve defective? Air pocket in cylinder head, bleed air out at thermostat housing. The timing on your car is controlled by the ECM and can not be altered. Beware the 4.6 motor is a very sensitive one. Take it to a Caddy dealer before you blow the head gaskets. Should that happen on that car the engine will only be useful as a boat anchor.

    make sure the cooling fan is working.........also try turning the timing down
