    could be a trany belt and on some cars there is an adjustment nut also could be low on trany fluid and in some cases on foreign cars the wrong fluid was put in


    shift modules can be replaced for each gear

    With my car [Dodge Magnum] it means the car is in 'limp home mode] get it to a service center and find out why its doing this.. I think this is a Chrysler feature, your Jeep is a Chrysler product as well..
