I have a 1993 Ford Taurus that is getting fuel and fire but will not start. The fuel pump seems to remain running constantly when it should have pressurized and stopped. Can anyone suggest what I might look at to get it running?

I have checked everythhing I can think of to no avail. No leaks, has fire and fuel and new fuel filter.

That fuel pump sounds very suss to me.It should stop.Perhaps the diaphram is buggered.Try another pump WBMS.

Check fuel pump relay. Pump doesn't shut off? Check fuel regulator at fuel rail. That pump PSI is rated at 110. Pull dip stick and smell for gas. If gas is present, pull a sparkplug and crank engine. If gas is being blown out recheck all the above. Pump is located in gas tank and is a pain to replace.

If it's getting to much fuel it will have flooded . Pump should not run after approx 4lb psi . the timing of the spark could also be out or it could have little if any compression
