    What is the word in English translation of the Hebrew phrase 'God is gracious'?

    My name in English is 'Jeanne' meaning 'God is gracious'. What i'm interested in is 'What would my name be in Hebrew with that same meaning in the English. Thank you so much!

    I'm not a Hebrew Scholar but in my PC Study Bible the 'Strongs' word in the Hebrew for Gracious is 'cannuwn' (khan-noon') meaning gracious. In context it is found in 2Chronicles 30:9 where the word 'Compassionate' added, which is defined as:

    (7356=Strongs number) racham (rakh'-am); from 7355; compassion (in the plural); by extension, the womb (as cherishing the fetus); by implication, a maiden: KJV-- bowels, compassion, damsel, tender love, (great, tender) mercy, pity, womb.

    So it seems to have a very tender deep meaning especially for a woman. That is a lovely name.
