      Cable is a business and as such ti's primary goal is to make a profit. So, they don't offer any channels for which there isn't a demand. They make up a package deal that offers a wide variety of selections. The appeal is the vast array of choices.  and a lot of people buy those products.

        Unwanted channel's can be deleted, by going to "Setup" on your TV set,  if you do not want to access  them, via your remote.
