    1996 ford windstar--how do i know the headgasket is blown

    1. Smell exhaust, if it smells like anti freeze. Problem.


    2. Check oil dip stick, if a whitish foam appears. Problem.


    3. Check radiator, if oil in water. Problem.


    4. If car smokes at tailpipe after a two mile drive. Problem.


    Remove spark-plug one at a time, look for the one that has no carbon on it, looks new, that is where the gasket is blown.

    You can feel it and you can hear it, also you can see escaping gasses..

    That's the same thing as when I blow a gasket!

    Ducka, I would imagine this is true.. Maybe you need to tighten the bolts on the side of your neck?? :)
